Latham, The Pool Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Fayetteville, TN location for 1st Shift/Days.

Latham is the largest designer, manufacturer, and marketer of residential inground swimming pools, employing over 2,000 individuals across 32 facilities nationwide. As part of the Latham family, you will be immersed in a culture that prioritizes high performance, engagement, quality, and safety.

The Fayetteville facility specializes in the production of fiberglass pools, where adherence to safety protocols, including the use of respirators and PPE, is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Technician is tasked with ensuring the optimal functioning of production equipment and facilities through preventive maintenance practices.

Core Duties:
  1. Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment by fulfilling preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, systems, and production machines; utilizing diagrams, manuals, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot issues.
  2. Identify problem sources by observing mechanical devices in operation and employing precision measuring and testing instruments.
  3. Dismantle devices to remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools; assess the condition of parts.
  4. Design and fabricate supporting structures, including frames and workstation aids.
  5. Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using measuring instruments.
  6. Adjust functional components of devices and control instruments using hand tools and levels.
  7. Minimize downtime by educating production staff on routine preventive maintenance techniques.
  8. Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
  9. Manage equipment, parts, and supplies inventory by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as necessary.
  10. Optimize maintenance resources by utilizing equipment and supplies efficiently.
  11. Provide mechanical maintenance information in response to inquiries.
  12. Compile mechanical maintenance reports by gathering and analyzing data.
  13. Enhance technical knowledge through educational workshops and technical publications.
  14. Ensure continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions and needs.
  15. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures and regulations.
  16. Interpret manuals and diagrams to operate and maintain equipment effectively.
  17. Prioritize daily work orders based on performance requirements.
  18. Schedule and execute preventive maintenance tasks.
  19. Maintain inventory levels of replacement parts for shop equipment.
  20. Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as needed.
  21. Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Understanding of mechanical maintenance processes.
  • Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as HVAC and fluid pumps; certifications are a plus.
  • Critical thinking skills for troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks without supervision.
  • Effective time management skills to meet work demands.
  • Proficiency in handling a variety of tools and heavy equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and forklifts.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
