The ideal candidate for this role possesses significant expertise in steel structures, managing the progress of each assigned project efficiently and within budgetary constraints. As a Structural Steel Project Supervisor, you will ensure that the project scope aligns with financial plans and that the team completes each phase of the project according to the established timeline. This position will start remotely and transition to a hybrid model once our new facility opens.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and analyze vendor proposals.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects utilizing formal project management methodologies.
  • Initiate projects within the PE system.
  • Develop fabrication schedules and objectives.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors.
  • Report on progress towards production, financial, quality, and safety targets to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiate modifications to contracts.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Enhance processes in projects that may have limited precedents and could impact the organization as a whole.
  • Supervise vendor performance and relationships.
  • Prepare, present, and disseminate project and program information to various groups, both within and outside the organization.
  • Identify resource and equipment needs, optimize capacity planning, and manage software and hardware availability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of ten years of general experience and five years in project management within the structural steel sector – experience in commercial fabrication is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Comfortable with a remote working environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the AISC Manual of Steel Construction for creating compliant shop and erection drawings.
  • Knowledge of construction codes and practices.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with FabSuite and Tekla is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Tekla Structures, Tekla EPM, and Trimble Connect software is a plus.
