Position Summary:
Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC is in search of a dedicated Legal Assistant to bolster our immigration practice based in Lexington, Kentucky. This role is ideal for individuals who have experience in administrative support, document preparation, and general office management while assisting multiple attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and processing incoming mail, including routine updates and distribution of materials to clients and attorneys.
  • Setting up new files and conducting intake processes, which includes drafting engagement letters and organizing physical files.
  • Maintaining and organizing a significant volume of electronic and paper files, ensuring proper cataloging of original documents.
  • Detail-oriented management and assembly of case files and related documentation.
  • Engaging in verbal and written communication with clients, vendors, and governmental bodies.
  • Drafting a high volume of correspondence for clients and other relevant parties.
  • Overseeing deadlines, scheduling appointments, and managing expense reports.
  • Keeping attorney Continuing Legal Education (CLE) files up to date.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize various tasks while working under multiple supervisors.
  • Proficient in technology, particularly with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel; a willingness to learn new systems is essential. Experience with immigration case management software is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on effective communication and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Proactive and achievement-oriented, eager to tackle challenges and take initiative.
  • Reliable team player, capable of completing tasks in a deadline-driven environment, with flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Legal Assistant, particularly in immigration-related work.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment, including PCs, printers, scanners, and copiers.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, emphasizing rapport-building and active listening.

Job Type: Full-time, with a standard work week of 37.5 hours. Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary.
