Territory Sales Leader

Overview:
A Territory Sales Leader is responsible for achieving the sales volume and distribution goals of the organization by effectively managing and mentoring a team of sales professionals. This role emphasizes strategic planning, organization, training, and execution to ensure that performance standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Leads and develops a team of sales professionals.
Conducts impactful one-on-one sales meetings with team members, communicating sales objectives and initiatives, identifying growth opportunities, reviewing performance metrics, and guiding representatives on closing performance gaps.
Creates and evaluates performance improvement plans for each team member by maintaining comprehensive training records, conducting assessments, monitoring new hire evaluations, performing coaching sessions, and following up on progress as necessary.
Prepares for each sales cycle by holding individual meetings with each representative, strategizing on achieving targets, and assisting in defining target accounts when necessary.
Participates in the recruitment and selection process by collaborating with human resources to source candidates, schedule interviews, conduct assessments, and manage the onboarding process.
Exhibits strong customer focus by nurturing relationships with key accounts, identifying business opportunities, conducting customer reviews, establishing initial orders with new clients, managing territories, and addressing customer concerns.
Oversees supplier evaluations by planning routes, pre-evaluating accounts, conducting surveys with suppliers, summarizing findings, and scheduling sales representatives as required.
Coordinates supplier ride-alongs by collaborating with Business Managers to schedule sales representatives.Addresses customer issues by adhering to administrative protocols and company policies, escalating matters to management when necessary.
Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent training and experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office and various computer applications, including presentation software
Results-driven professional with strong verbal and written communication skills, utilizing diplomacy and discretion, along with excellent customer service abilities
Capable of multitasking, working independently or collaboratively, paying attention to detail, and meeting deadlines
Strong analytical and reporting skills
Demonstrates sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities
Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment
Possession of a valid driver's license
Preferred
Additional Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a Solicitor's Permit
Knowledge of Wine and Spirits
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
Competencies:
May assist in coordinating the work of junior team members.
Resolves diverse and non-routine issues through analysis and investigation.
