Description

At Platinum Dermatology Partners, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dermatology team in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, assist with preparation for exams, and ensure a smooth patient experience.
  • Enter medical histories and prescriptions into our electronic medical record system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist physicians during exams and procedures, providing support and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Perform extractions, injections, and other patient treatments, adhering to strict medical protocols and guidelines.
  • Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Educate patients and respond to their questions in the office or via phone, providing clear and concise information.
  • Document all medical instructions given to patients, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the team, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.

Qualifications:
  • Certification preferred (e.g., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician)
  • Minimum two years' experience in a doctor's office, with prior dermatology experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor and appearance
  • Knowledge of medical dermatology terms, CPT, and ICD-10 coding
  • Able to demonstrate compassion, caring, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care

Work Environment:
Our medical office environment is well-lit, with occasional evening and weekend work. You will be working with standard office equipment, including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, and telephones. You must possess the manual dexterity to operate these machines, as well as the ability to stoop, bend, and handle files and supplies. You will also be handling sharps and chemicals, and must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple staff demands and deadlines.
