We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Coordinator to join our team at the Salk Institute. As a key member of our Procurement Services department, you will play a critical role in supporting the entire procurement process, from procurement to payment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal clients, suppliers, and stakeholders, responding to semi-routine inquiries and resolving problems in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist Buyers in expediting orders, follow up on overdue purchase orders, and communicate with suppliers and internal clients regarding status.
  • Maintain efficient electronic filing systems, process paperwork, and compose routine correspondence to ensure compliance with federal regulations and Salk policies.
  • Review and update supplier data, including insurance documents, contact information, and ordering information, to ensure compliance with federal and Salk requirements.
  • Assist in training users of the SalkShop e-procurement system, resolve routine issues, and notify and escalate to the Financial Information Systems team and Procurement Services management as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years of experience in Procure-to-Pay administrative functions and e-procurement or other application management/support.
  • Experience performing administrative procurement work, following up on orders, change orders, resolving discrepancies, and interfacing with internal clients and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated experience with standard and electronic filing systems that support compliance with federal regulations and Salk policies.
  • Ability to present to and train small groups of people from all departments and levels in an organization.
