Position Overview

The ideal candidate will possess the skills to assess, troubleshoot, and rectify electrical, hydraulic, or powertrain-related issues in construction machinery.

Experience with various equipment types is preferred, including truck-mounted, rough terrain, lattice, slick boom, wheel, track, crawler cranes, and bucket trucks.

Occasionally, the role may involve servicing skid loaders, excavators, dozers, track-mounted machinery, compact equipment, boom lifts, and a range of light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks.

Key Responsibilities

+ Report directly to the Service Manager, who will provide a brief overview of issues and relevant information regarding the vehicle.

+ Interpret equipment manuals and repair orders to perform necessary maintenance and services. (Proficiency in using a laptop or similar devices for accessing information and conducting diagnostic tests is essential.)

+ Execute tasks as outlined by the Used Truck Service Manager; efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with Custom Truck One Source standards.

+ Conduct inspections and service vehicles, performing repairs and adjustments both at the service center and in the field.

+ Validate work completed and conduct road tests on vehicles as required.

+ Prepare detailed inspection reports, repair orders (documenting service time and parts costs), and time cards with accuracy.

+ Label all warranty and core parts for return.

+ Notify management promptly if additional work is necessary, if outlined work is unnecessary, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised timeframe.

+ Participate in Custom Truck One Source safety training and adhere to all safety protocols.

+ Attend Custom Truck One Source and manufacturer-sponsored training sessions.

+ Maintain a tidy work area and service vehicles, ensuring accountability for all tools in use.

+ Comprehend and comply with federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.

+ Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to minimize equipment downtime.

+ Flexibility to travel beyond the primary coverage area as business needs arise.

+ Collaborate closely with the Used Truck Service Manager to enhance customer satisfaction.

+ Operate safely in a dynamic environment, often under pressure or with tight deadlines, in both shop and field settings.

Basic Qualifications

+ High School Diploma or GED.

+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in Utility Truck maintenance and repair.

+ Must possess personal tools.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Current CDL is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate.

+ Strong communication abilities.

+ Demonstrated commitment to safety.
