Job Summary

The Clark Construction Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Summer Associate Program as a Construction Management Intern. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry and develop a strong foundation in project development, project management, field engineering, and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery - Project Management
    • Assist in financial management, including reviewing gross billings, tracking change orders, and subcontractor requisitions
    • Manage document control, including submittals, RFI, and material tracking
    • Become a trusted advisor to trade partners to plan for successful field installation
  • Project Delivery - Field Management
    • Assist in quality control and safety, monitoring trade workers and emphasizing quality of work and safety
    • Assist with project schedule management and site logistics
    • Resolve unforeseen challenges within installation, schedule, and trade partner coordination
  • Project Development
    • Assist in budgeting, including reviewing initial contract documents and soliciting preliminary evaluations of subcontractor bids
    • Assist in estimating, including performing quantity takeoffs and preparing bid proposals
    • Collaborate in purchasing, executing subcontractor agreements, and reviewing scope of work

Requirements

  • Currently attending university and working towards an undergraduate or master's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field
  • Genuine interest and passion for the construction industry

About the Summer Associate Program

The Clark Construction Group Summer Associate Program provides a realistic view of what it's like to work in the construction industry through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Our goal is to provide you with countless opportunities for learning, growth, and career development, and we are committed to delivering an exceptional experience both professionally and personally.

Program Details

  • Full-time program (minimum of 40 hours per week) that starts in late May or early June and typically runs about 8-10 weeks in length
  • Summer Associates are eligible and encouraged to work overtime during their time at Clark
  • Clark offers positions at its offices and jobsites throughout the country

Compensation

Clark offers a total compensation package, including commuter benefits or fitness reimbursement. Hourly rates will be determined by factors such as geographic location, education, skills, experience, and market considerations. For this role, the hourly rate is $24-30/hour.
