Position Summary

As a vital member of our construction management team, the Construction Inspector is tasked with delivering quality assurance inspection services. Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to: overseeing construction activities, coordinating testing, providing input on RFI reviews, maintaining project documentation, daily reporting, and liaising with contractors. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Resident Engineer. This role reports directly to the Resident Engineer or their designated representative as part of a cohesive Construction Management consulting team.

We are currently seeking a Construction Inspector for a building tenant improvement project.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the owner's representative on the construction of building renovations.
  2. Collaborate with contractor personnel and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
  3. Ensure construction activities comply with contract documents and specifications.
  4. Generate detailed daily inspection reports and verify contract pay quantities.
  5. Identify construction issues proactively and collaborate with the Resident Engineer for solutions.
  6. Implement standard testing methods for the verification of construction materials.
  7. Inspect, observe, document, and verify ongoing work by the construction contractor to ensure adherence to project schedules, contract documents, and plans.
  8. Utilize engineering inspection techniques to perform complex calculations and measurements of completed work.
  9. Maintain a daily report of assigned work activities, contractor labor, equipment, and material quantities received and verified.
  10. Oversee on-site material testing and produce as-constructed sketches as necessary.
  11. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  2. A minimum of 6 years of construction-related experience.
  3. Possession of all necessary jurisdictional certifications and compliance with state requirements.
  4. Strong communication skills.
  5. Valid Driver's License.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  7. Experience with aviation projects is preferred.
  8. Able to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  9. Capable of lifting 25 lbs.

Shift Details: This position requires night shifts.
