The Project Engineer (PE) will assist the Project Manager (PM) and Superintendent (Supt) as necessary to help them achieve their objectives throughout all stages of a project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the submittal process
  • Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process
  • Administer the change order proposal process
  • Provide research, support, data entry, and other assistance as requested by the PM and Supt
  • Execute budget revisions and modifications in the designated software as needed during the project
  • Help maintain a high standard of safety in line with Abbott's core principles
  • Combine knowledge of engineering practices, construction techniques, and personnel management skills
  • Support planning, scheduling, and coordination of projects to meet deadlines
  • Assist the estimating department by soliciting subcontractors for projects and managing and distributing plans
  • Act as the primary contact for subcontractors as directed by the Project Manager
  • Serve as a Project Manager in the absence of the designated Project Manager
Essential Skills
  • Strong negotiation and leadership abilities
  • Understanding of accounting, financial statements, job costing, and cash flow
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred
Qualifications
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening
  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field
  • Driven for a long-term career in construction
  • Minimum of 2 years of project engineering experience
The salary range for this position is competitive and includes eligibility for a target bonus.
