About the Role

Mentor Technical Group is seeking a highly skilled EHS Specialist to join our team. As a world leader in life science engineering and technical solutions, we provide a comprehensive portfolio of technical support and solutions for the FDA-regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device safety and efficacy guidelines.
  • Manage contractor relationships, permits, and inspections to maintain a safe and quality working environment.
  • Develop and implement recycling and waste management programs that meet regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct training and awareness programs to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Monitor and recommend programs, systems, and corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and maintain internal and regulatory reporting, including data collection and reporting.
  • Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies and maintain effective relationships with Operations, Managers, Supervisors, and employees.
  • Assist in the oversight of the Worker's Compensation program and promote excellent relationships with clients.
  • Alert management to potential problems and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with waste management programs, including hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, general trash, biohazard, and recycling.
  • Prepare hazardous waste manifests reports and ensure compliance with client standards and regulatory agencies.
  • Audit EHS programs, inspections, and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Conduct inspections, training, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Participate in near miss, incident, and accident investigations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or Social Science related field.
  • 5-9 years of experience in a manufacturing industry, preferably in pharmaceuticals, with direct responsibility for Health, Safety, and Environmental.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations and cGMP procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong communication and supervisory skills.
