Environmental Compliance Officer | Asbestos Inspector

Location: State College, PA

Role Summary:

As an Environmental Compliance Officer at CMI, your primary focus will be on implementing best practices, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and fostering a culture of safety enhancement on designated construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct air quality monitoring as required by the project
  • Perform asbestos inspections
  • Carry out on-site evaluations and recommend safety practices
  • Prepare reports as necessary for the project

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in environmental roles, including asbestos inspections
  • Capability to calibrate and operate air monitoring equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Willingness to undertake 1099 on-call projects

Education and Certifications:

  • Current PA Asbestos License required
  • NIOSH 7400 certification required
  • First Aid CPR AED certification required

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often on uneven surfaces
  • Capability to climb ladders
  • Ability to stoop, crawl, and bend
  • Capacity to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs

Additional Requirements:

  • Background checks and potential drug screenings are mandatory for this position
  • Overtime and flexible hours may be required based on project needs
  • Residence within a reasonable commuting distance is preferred
