Job SummaryThis is a full-time salaried exempt position responsible for providing comprehensive union representation to RNPA members. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively with the Senior Association Representative to process grievances and appeals, assist members with personnel issues, and support the negotiating team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of labor relations, contract negotiations, and labor organizing, with excellent communication and leadership skills.Key Responsibilities
  • Process grievances and appeals, and assist members with personnel issues
  • Support the negotiating team and participate in contract negotiations
  • Conduct research and investigations to aid in the development of union policies and bargaining positions
  • Attend meetings to represent RNPA members and serve as a liaison to community and labor groups
  • Assist with organizing membership and develop plans for RNPA member activities and events
Requirements
  • Proven ability to organize and plan work
  • Leadership skills to educate, motivate, and organize members
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while being flexible
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in complex situations
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Knowledge of or ability to acquire computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree in labor-related field or extensive experience in labor relations, labor organizing, or related work
  • Experience with contract negotiations, labor organizing, and working with healthcare professionals
  • Knowledge of small businesses and local independent unions
