Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Employee Relations Consultant to join our team at the University of California San Francisco. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will provide labor and employee relations guidance to all levels within the organization, utilizing specialized labor and employee relations expertise to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide labor and employee relations guidance to all levels within the organization
  • Utilize specialized labor and employee relations expertise to resolve complex issues
  • Develop and establish rapport and maintain mutually productive relationships with employees and management
  • Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities while adjusting effectively in changing priorities, work processes, responsibilities, and environment
  • Lead local negotiations and represent UCSF's interests at system-wide level negotiations
  • Conduct training, investigate and respond to grievances, promote proactive management practices, and administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements and University policies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and six years of experience in labor and employee relations or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of labor/employment law and the principles and techniques of labor negotiations
  • Ability to lead and mentor other labor relations professionals
  • Advanced analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations
