Director of Labor Relations and Compliance

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Labor Relations and Compliance to join our dynamic team at San Jose Water Company. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for leading and directing all aspects of labor relations strategy and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage union contracts, negotiations, and grievance procedures
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with labor unions
  • Provide strategic counsel to management on labor-related matters
  • Develop and implement labor relations policies and procedures
  • Oversee labor-related legal matters and represent the company in labor disputes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in business, human resources, public administration, or a closely related field
  • 10 years of experience in managing labor relations and compliance, with at least 5 years in a management capacity
  • Valid California driver's license
