Position: Reliability & Maintainability Engineer

Location: Sterling Heights, MI

Position Summary:

The Reliability & Maintainability Engineer plays a pivotal role within the engineering division, concentrating on the design processes to meet R&M objectives, ensuring optimal performance for the Next Generation Combat Vehicle/Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (NGCV/OMFV) initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the creation of System Reliability Models.
  • Contribute to hardware and software reliability forecasts.
  • Provide Reliability Allocations to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Conduct Reliability and Maintainability evaluations.
  • Compile a Reliability Critical Item List for hardware components.
  • Support the development of reliability block diagrams and mathematical models.
  • Facilitate the creation of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) with IPT collaboration.
  • Engage in executing the activities outlined in the R&M program plan.
  • Participate in human factor reviews and soldier feedback sessions.
  • Establish and maintain a tracking system for test incident reports, including failure analyses and corrective actions.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations and policies.
  • Manage and deliver large-scale projects, including financial oversight.
  • Occasional travel, including potential trips to Europe, may be necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the PA&T Manager or Engineering Director.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems).

Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience applying reliability and maintainability analytical methods for ground combat vehicles.
  • Familiarity with Reliability Engineering standards and processes.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices.
  • Ability to deliver technical presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of ground vehicle requirements and US DoD vehicle development processes.
  • Hands-on approach with the capability to work independently.
  • Proficient understanding of Military Standards and regulations.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects from concept to production.
  • Experience in multi-national and multi-organizational environments.
  • Proficiency with Weibull++ and Crow-AMSAA software.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Customer-focused with strong analytical skills.
  • Leadership capabilities to motivate teams towards high performance.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.

Desired:

  • Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems).
  • Experience with ReliaSoft tools.
