Position: Platform Predictive Logistics Specialist

Location: Sterling Heights, MI

Position Summary: This role involves providing expert technical support for Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Technologies tailored for Combat Vehicles. As a member of the Digital Systems Software Engineering (DSSE) team, you will engage in the exploration, development, and demonstration of PdM capabilities specific to vehicle platforms. This position requires collaboration within a cross-functional team, tasked with delivering PdM functionalities and related software products, ensuring effective integration and testing at both subsystem and vehicle levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to implement predictive maintenance strategies effectively.
  • Manage and implement condition monitoring systems to assess equipment health.
  • Gather and analyze data from diverse sensors and systems to pinpoint potential equipment failures.
  • Conduct data analysis and modeling: Develop predictive models to anticipate equipment failures and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation related to PdM activities, including equipment health, predictive analytics, and performance reports.
  • Offer technical support for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PdM tools and software systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in predictive maintenance processes and technologies through research and innovation, staying abreast of the latest advancements and best practices.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Maintenance Engineering or Reliability Engineering.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, and familiarity with machine learning techniques.
Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in troubleshooting hardware and software technologies associated with PdM systems.
  • Familiarity with sensors and data acquisition systems for condition monitoring (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography).
  • Strong skills in data collection and processing from various sources (e.g., sensors, databases).
  • Proficient in data analysis and experienced with machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience with maintenance management software (CMMS, EMS systems) and PdM software.
  • Understanding of networking principles and their application to connected maintenance systems.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and user guides.
  • Knowledge of the defense industry.
  • Awareness of relevant regulations and standards affecting maintenance and reliability.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment, working alongside engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and devise solutions.
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
Certifications:
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) from the Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP).
  • Machine learning or data science certification from Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or similar organizations.
