Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the planning and management of the kitchen, ensuring that high-quality food is produced consistently and that the kitchen is run efficiently and safely.

The Sous Chef will supervise a team of cooks and kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are working effectively and safely. The Sous Chef will also be responsible for monitoring and controlling labor and food costs, ensuring that budgets are met and that quality is maintained.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Executive Chef in the planning and management of the kitchen, ensuring that high-quality food is produced consistently and that the kitchen is run efficiently and safely.

Supervise a team of cooks and kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are working effectively and safely.

Monitor and control labor and food costs, ensuring that budgets are met and that quality is maintained.

Assist in the creation and planning of menus and daily specials, ensuring that they are appealing to our guests and meet our quality standards.

Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum one year of post-high school education, preferably in a culinary arts program.

Three to four years of experience in a related position, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant.

Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession, including food safety and sanitation, kitchen operations, and menu planning.

Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines, and to communicate effectively with colleagues and guests.
