Job Title: Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Bon Appetit Management Company. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department for a facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and create menus
  • Develop and execute catering events
  • Implement new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team

Requirements:

  • A.S. or equivalent experience
  • Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training
  • Catering experience a plus
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet
  • Willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
  • ServSafe certified - highly desirable
