Position Overview

Role Summary: The Product Manager for Crucibles in the NAFTA region will spearhead the strategic growth initiatives for our crucible product line. This role encompasses various critical responsibilities aimed at enhancing market presence and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis through direct engagement with customers and sales teams, alongside evaluating external market data to identify the value proposition of existing products, market gaps, and opportunities for development.
  • Create and refine sales tools, deliver customer presentations, and perform competitive assessments.
  • Establish effective product positioning within the market.
  • Develop targeted marketing strategies, including digital outreach initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage product profitability metrics.
  • Perform monthly evaluations of product line performance.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Oversee the product life cycle and portfolio management, ensuring alignment with market demands.
  • Identify market needs to maintain a customer-centric approach in product development, while also pinpointing opportunities for new product innovations and enhancements.
  • Provide essential support and training to Sales and Application Engineers related to the product domain.
  • Define product specifications in accordance with customer requirements and collaborate with Quality Management, Quality Assurance, and Research & Development teams to establish quality control processes.
  • Manage all Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) to optimize manufacturing efficiency by reducing unnecessary SKU proliferation.
  • Handle JDE product codes, patterns, and recipes.
  • Lead the execution and oversight of product launches, including global and local initiatives; manage the new product development process from ideation to production.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive product documentation, including literature, technical papers, and case studies.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Control expenses within the M&T cost center to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
  • Engage proactively with the Supply Chain to support capacity planning and anticipate future manufacturing needs; lead recipe engineering projects through regular collaboration with internal manufacturing and key suppliers.
  • Implement marketing strategies effectively.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external research institutions and third-party developers.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in chemistry or materials science is essential, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in crucible applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate diverse cultures and management styles, coupled with a solid understanding of technical development requirements.
  • Product Managers are expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy.

  • Operations and Supply Chain Managers at manufacturing sites
  • Purchasing and Quality departments
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) teams regarding Safety Data Sheets
  • Research & Development departments
  • NAFTA M&T team, including other Product Managers and Application Engineers
  • Business Unit Managers within the NAFTA operating company
  • Marketing Communications team
