Job Overview

The Building People, LLC is seeking a dedicated Graphic Designer to join our team, providing support to a client affiliated with the U.S. Department of Energy.

Role Responsibilities

The Graphic Designer plays a crucial role in articulating the mission, activities, and objectives of the office both internally and externally. This position is responsible for employing various strategies to effectively communicate the scientific endeavors of the office and enhance stakeholder awareness regarding our initiatives.

  • Develop and create engaging graphics for diverse marketing materials, including website banners, social media content, email communications, brochures, flyers, advertisements, and presentations.
  • Maintain consistency and compliance with the client's visual identity across all design initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery while upholding high-quality standards.
  • Contribute to the formulation of successful marketing strategies from conception through to execution.
  • Collaborate with the web development team to design visually appealing and user-centric web interfaces, adhering to responsive design principles.
  • Engage in brainstorming sessions, offering innovative ideas and creative concepts to bolster marketing efforts.
  • Prepare and deliver design presentations, articulating the rationale behind design decisions and integrating feedback from stakeholders.
  • Oversee the production process of printed materials in collaboration with external vendors and printers, ensuring quality outcomes.
  • Coordinate with relevant leadership to adhere to established protocols for the public dissemination of reports and information.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience; a Master's Degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
  • Proficient in advanced graphic design using the Adobe Suite (Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc.).
  • Experience in producing digital marketing materials, website graphics, print collateral, and executing marketing campaigns.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to independently drive projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • High level of creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • A keen aesthetic sense and a passion for graphic design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the energy sector is advantageous.
Educational Requirements
  • Minimum Education: B.S. or B.A. in a relevant field.
