Position: Finance Manager

Location: Philadelphia, PA – Hybrid

Employment Type: Direct Hire

This role entails managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring effective oversight of accounting functions and maintaining confidentiality in all financial dealings. The Finance Manager will be responsible for comprehensive financial planning and management, encompassing the following key duties:

  • Oversees daily accounting department activities.
  • Develops and executes the annual budget.
  • Manages financial and tax reporting processes.
  • Supervises general ledger and trust accounting operations.
  • Facilitates billing and collection processes.
  • Monitors and controls cash flow.
  • Maintains banking relationships and oversees bank deposits.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations regarding trust accounts.
  • Reviews and authorizes accounts payable transactions.
  • Prepares financial documentation for partner meetings and requests from senior management.
  • Delegates projects and directs team members to uphold compliance and accuracy.
  • Advises billing coordinators by interpreting accounting policies and applying insights to operational challenges.
  • Establishes confidential procedures and guidelines for the billing department.
  • Handles accounts payable, including posting invoices and processing payments.
  • Manages expense reimbursements, reconciles credit card statements, and processes refunds.
  • Maintains trust accounts, processes transfers, and applies them to relevant matters.
  • Oversees wire transfers, ensuring accurate identification and posting.
  • Manages payroll functions, including posting to the general ledger and tracking deductions.
  • Orders and distributes transit checks to employees.
  • Maintains comprehensive income spreadsheets.
  • Reconciles bank accounts regularly.
  • Conducts research for various stakeholders within the organization.

  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Familiarity with legal billing software or equivalent accounting systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
  • Effective organizational skills and time management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Capacity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Proactive in anticipating work needs and executing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to accommodate varied work hours, including potential weekends or evenings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in confidential settings.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Accounting certification is advantageous.
