Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Program Manager to lead and promote cross-divisional work in the areas of water quality standards development and implementation, integrated assessment and water quality management planning, and compliance and enforcement for the division's regulatory programs.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in federal Clean Water Act and state water quality permitting, regulatory compliance and enforcement, environmental program management, and supervision.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and promote cross-divisional work in the areas of water quality standards development and implementation, integrated assessment and water quality management planning, and compliance and enforcement for the division's regulatory programs.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for achieving divisional goals and objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to divisional staff on water quality standards development and implementation, integrated assessment and water quality management planning, and compliance and enforcement.
  • Collaborate with other state agencies and stakeholders to advance the division's mission and goals.
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources to support divisional programs and activities.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher in hydrogeology, chemistry, soil science, engineering, environmental studies, law, or public administration.
  • Two (2) years or more at a professional level in an environmental management or regulatory program in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
  • OR
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, a physical or biological science or other field closely related to environmental conservation.
  • Four (4) years or more at a professional level in an environmental management or regulatory program including two (2) years or more in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
