Role Summary: As an Engineering Technician within the Summit Hospitality Group, you will play a vital role in ensuring the maintenance and repair of hotel facilities and equipment. Your efforts will contribute to a safe working environment and enhance guest satisfaction through quality service. Collaborating with management and department heads, you will strive for operational efficiency and safety while providing exceptional service to both guests and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in hotel engineering preferred
- Positive attitude and readiness to assist with tasks in a respectful manner
- Service-oriented approach with a professional demeanor
- High energy level and meticulous attention to detail
- Collaborative mindset towards team members and management
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure guest satisfaction by providing friendly and helpful service.
- Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and complete work orders, such as replacing ceiling tiles and light bulbs, to uphold hotel standards.
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance assignments.
- Manage the upkeep of the hotel's pool, including chemical adjustments and filter cleaning.
- Support minor repairs on plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Respond courteously to guest inquiries and complaints to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Identify potential safety hazards and address them in accordance with hotel policies.
- Possess knowledge in HVAC, electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing, and other maintenance areas.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues in hotel systems.
- Be proactive in assisting colleagues and contributing to a team-oriented environment.
- Adhere to franchise standards and address inspection deficiencies.
- Investigate guest complaints and assist in operational audits.
- Promote the culture of Summit Hospitality and ensure adherence to its values.
- Support training initiatives within the hotel.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Work Environment:
- Flexible scheduling, including weekend availability.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for the majority of the shift.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent physical activities, including bending, squatting, and walking on uneven surfaces.
- Ability to handle various tools and equipment necessary for facility maintenance.
- Must maintain any required licenses or certifications.
Benefits for Full-time Employees:
- Personal time off after 90 days of employment.
- Insurance benefits available after 90 days.
