About the Role:

As a Subsurface Utility Engineering Field Technician at Stewart Engineering, Inc., you will be part of a team responsible for performing subsurface utility engineering location using the latest equipment and surveying technologies. Your primary duties will include assisting the SUE Field Supervisor and other crew members with daily tasks, operating SUE instrumentation and equipment, and performing SUE surveys to locate man-made structures on the Earth's surface, underground, and underwater.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the performance of SUE surveys to ascertain the locations of man-made structures on the Earth's surface, underground, and underwater.
Operate SUE instrumentation and equipment such as global positioning systems (GPS), data collectors, EM locaters, ground penetrating radar, and vacuum excavation equipment.
Ensure safekeeping of equipment and read and interpret construction, utility, and survey maps.

Requirements:

Basic understanding and knowledge of Subsurface Utility Engineering.
Basic use of arithmetic and mathematics to perform calculations.
Basic computer skills and fluent and comprehensive understanding of the English language including reading, writing, and speaking required.

Pass a Drug Test, dependable, and physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites in all weather conditions.
Willing and able to work overtime as required and possess a valid driver's license with the ability to pass a driving record check.

Preferred Qualifications:

0-2 years of relevant work experience and completed Advanced Utility Locating Training Course within the first six months of employment.
Experience with GPR, EM locating Equipment, Vacuum Excavation, and GPS equipment and software preferred, such as Radiodetection, Metrotech/Vivax, Mala, and Vacmasters.
