Position Title: Engineering Technician

Department: Facilities Management

Reports To: Chief Engineer/Operations Manager

Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available

Role Summary: As an Engineering Technician within the Summit Hospitality Group, you will play a vital role in the upkeep and repair of the hotel’s infrastructure and equipment. Your efforts will contribute to a safe and welcoming environment, ensuring that guests receive the highest level of satisfaction. You will collaborate with management and various departments to optimize safety and operational efficiency while delivering exceptional service to both guests and staff.

Key Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in hotel engineering preferred
  • Positive attitude and readiness to assist with assigned tasks
  • Professional demeanor with a focus on service
  • High energy levels and meticulous attention to detail
  • Collaborative spirit and supportive approach towards colleagues and management

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensure guest satisfaction through friendly and helpful interactions.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and complete work orders, including tasks such as replacing ceiling tiles and light bulbs.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, including room care activities.
  • Maintain the hotel’s pool by managing chemical levels and cleaning filters.
  • Support minor repairs on plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Respond courteously to guest inquiries and concerns to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards and security issues within the hotel.
  • Possess knowledge in HVAC, electrical systems, carpentry, and plumbing.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues in hotel systems.
  • Be proactive in assisting colleagues and contributing to team efforts.
  • Adhere to franchise standards and follow up on inspection findings.
  • Investigate and resolve guest complaints.
  • Assist in departmental audits and contribute to corrective action plans.
  • Embrace and promote the Summit Hospitality culture.
  • Support training initiatives for hotel staff.
  • Be adaptable to changing duties and responsibilities as required.

Work Environment:

  • Flexible scheduling, including weekend availability.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for the majority of the shift.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent handling of equipment and tools necessary for facility maintenance.
  • Physical demands include bending, squatting, and walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Must maintain any required licenses or certifications.
