Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Field Engineer to join our team at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Reactor Plant Contractors' Office (RPCO). This is a growth and development position that offers significant autonomy and opportunities for advancement.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting highly visible work with a broad spectrum of responsibility, including technical support, consultation, and oversight through the performance of installation, testing, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of complex equipment and nuclear systems.
The position requires engagement in a shipboard industrial environment, meeting directly with ship's force, senior shipyard leadership, and Naval Reactors. Field engineers are proactive in identifying and preventing problems to avoid impacts to cost and ship delivery schedules.
We are looking for a dynamic individual with a strong background in engineering or science, and 2 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a proven track record of success in a similar role.
Preferred skills include strong written and verbal communication skills, previous experience in applying innovative solutions to resolve problems/improve performance, and prior Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program operational or design experience.
We offer a competitive salary range of $76,000.00 to $117,000.00 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and voluntary benefits, disability, life, and accident insurance, and a 401(k) savings program.
