Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Field Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering support and independent oversight of work associated with installation, testing, and modification of reactor plant systems, components, and safety systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide engineering support and independent oversight of work associated with installation, testing, and modification of reactor plant systems, components, and safety systems.
- Operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and independently exercise authority to ensure that work is conducted in a safe manner.
- Engage with Navy personnel, shipyard engineering, local government representatives, and partner organizations to influence and provide feedback.
- Collaborate with on-site management and partner organizations to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field and 1 year of relevant experience.
- Currently or previously EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program.
- SRE qualified.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience in applying innovative solutions to resolve problems/improve performance.
- Prior Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program operational or design experience is desired but not required.
- Strong leadership and mentoring ability.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to varying tasks and responsibilities.
- Experience working with US Navy Nuclear Fleet and/or nuclear capable shipyard.

Note: Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
