Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Representative II to join our team at Sonoco Products Company. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for coordinating all direct sales activities and maintaining regular contact with major accounts and prospective customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain updated account plans for major accounts and prospective customers.
  • Provide marketing with input for strategic plans and develop account plans consistent with overall division strategies.
  • Implement and coordinate activities relative to each account plan and monitor for effectiveness.
  • Provide progress reports to appropriate personnel on a regular basis.
  • Establish and monitor a call plan for all customers and prospective customers and implement changes as required.
  • Monitor activity at each customer and prospective customer location and report on expansions, closings, business trends, and other factors impacting volume levels.
  • Maintain detailed customer files and up-to-date information on gross margins.
  • Establish and maintain multi-level contacts at major existing and prospective accounts.
  • Communicate pertinent information to appropriate personnel through reports of call.
  • Seek out and promote new product and service offerings and potential candidates for acquisition.
  • Develop and maintain a list of prospective customers.
  • Provide sales projections for products and customers for use in developing sales budgets.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints to the satisfaction of these accounts.
  • Assist with trade shows, conventions, and trade association meetings as requested.
  • Assist with the training of sales and marketing personnel as needed.
  • Stay abreast of current selling techniques and improve product knowledge and knowledge of the marketplace.
  • Submit expense reports, reports of call, and itineraries on a weekly basis and all other reports on schedule.
  • Promote company goodwill and maintain proper relationships with customers and prospective customers.
  • Protect assets, confidential and restricted information, developments, specifications, materials, legal obligations, and other such data in contacts with external parties.
  • Comply with all company policies.
