Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute installation duties as outlined in the project’s Scope of Work (SOW).
  • Interpret and analyze electronic schematics and architectural plans.
  • Assist the Project Manager in overseeing the installation team, providing daily updates on job site progress, and completing necessary documentation.
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, adhering to project specifications and directives.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with other trades present on-site.
  • Utilize hand and power tools for various installation tasks, including soldering and connector terminations (XLR, RJ45, fiber-optic, and coaxial).
  • Construct AV racks according to elevation drawings, ensuring professional cable management.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers to initiate return material authorizations as required.
  • Conduct testing of point-to-point cabling, system functionality, and programming for control and DSP systems.
  • Assist Engineers or Programmers with minor programming adjustments to DSPs or room processors.
  • Configure IP addressable devices to ensure network communication.
  • Create, monitor, and finalize a project punch list.
  • Write and edit code for DSP systems such as Biamp, Qsys, and Shure.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks, diagnostics, and necessary repairs.
  • Provide training to clients as needed.
  • Travel nationally and occasionally internationally as required.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with technicians, clients, and colleagues.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Mature demeanor with the capability to function both autonomously and within a team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in PC applications.
  • Demonstrated business writing capabilities.
  • Skilled in diagnosing complex system issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of advanced signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IP networking.
  • Proven ability to lead teams on large-scale projects.
  • Experience conducting site surveys.
  • Capability for minor control system programming changes and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with specific testing equipment for various applications.
  • Knowledge of industry installation safety codes and standards.
  • Relevant industry-specific training and certifications to meet DMS standards.
  • Flexibility in working hours and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to regularly climb and work from ladders up to 35 feet.
  • At least 6 to 8 years of installation experience in the audiovisual or electronics industry.
  • Current CTS Certification is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal education in Audio Visual, Electronics, or a related field.
  • OSHA Certification.
  • Experience in a Project Site Lead role.
  • Ability to obtain necessary clearances as required.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, etc.) in both hardware and software.
  • AVIXA CTS-I certification is preferred.

Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversee L1 and L2 Technicians and assume Team Lead responsibilities, including sign-off.

Work Environment: Varies based on client site requirements.

Physical Demands: Must be physically fit, with lifting required.

Travel: National and occasional international travel is necessary, with a focus on a travel-intensive role.
