Overview

The role of the Para-Professional is essential in enhancing the educational experience for students and supporting educators in the classroom environment. This position focuses on fostering a productive learning atmosphere and assisting with the daily operations of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the educational and social growth of students under the supervision of the classroom instructor.
  • Assist in the execution of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress effectively.
  • Provide individualized support to students both in and out of the classroom to promote active participation in all activities.
  • Collaborate with various professionals, including speech therapists, social workers, and occupational and physical therapists.
  • Support students facing emotional or behavioral challenges and help them cultivate appropriate social skills.
  • Maintain accurate service logs for student rosters as part of the Pennsylvania School-Based ACCESS program.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by teachers and administrative staff.

Qualifications

A minimum of a High School Diploma is required, along with at least two years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Certifications and Clearances

  • Compliance with Act 34/151/114/126/168 clearances and certifications is mandatory.
