Criminal Records Operations Supervisor

Location: HR-Criminal Justice Center

Eligibility: Only current employees of the Pinellas County Government in the Clerk of the Circuit Court Department may apply.

This role is integral to the Criminal Court Records division and is designed to oversee the daily operations of a dedicated team. The Criminal Records Operations Supervisor is responsible for directing, evaluating, and enhancing the performance of a team of lead workers and clerical staff. This position demands a thorough understanding of the relevant statutes, court rules, and regulations to ensure compliance and efficiency in operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, assignment, and review of tasks performed by lead workers and clerical staff; assess and document employee performance.
  • Set objectives and priorities for the team, focusing on optimizing time and resource management.
  • Manage the collection and distribution of funds through established financial systems.
  • Assist in financial processes, including cash handling and deposit preparation.
  • Provide assistance and information to the public, other departments, and legal representatives to address inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Facilitate training and development for team members in collaboration with departmental leadership.
  • Handle the filing and certification of various legal documents as required.
  • Collaborate with staff to address complex challenges and provide support as necessary.
  • May be involved in payroll processing for the department.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience; or
  • An Associate's degree in a related field along with one year of relevant experience; or
  • A combination of education, training, and experience that meets the requirements.
Additional Considerations:
  • Willingness to work varied schedules, including during emergencies or special situations.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with standard office practices, procedures, and relevant software applications.
  • Understanding of research methodologies to identify best practices and resolve technical challenges.
  • Knowledge of judicial terminology and processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously at all organizational levels.
  • Capability to assist junior staff in adapting to new technologies.
  • Skill in identifying and resolving complex issues.
  • Understanding of how technical changes affect existing workflows.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and the public.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet established deadlines and objectives.
