Position Overview:

As an Operations Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate the activities of the operations department, ensuring optimal quality through effective resource management. This role involves making sound financial decisions while leading a team to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and guide all operational staff, including dispatchers, warehouse personnel, drivers, and service teams.
  • Recruit and onboard qualified personnel to meet operational demands throughout the year.
  • Ensure all team members receive appropriate training and possess the necessary skills for their roles.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement operational policies and procedures.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Prioritize safety above all operational goals, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Work with safety management to set and monitor safety objectives.
  • Implement security measures for facilities and vehicles, ensuring completion of all safety checks.

Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain high service standards in line with company expectations.
  • Ensure all crew members have current background checks and meet quality benchmarks.
  • Coordinate with quality assurance teams to drive continuous improvement.

Financial Management:

  • Monitor and enhance gross margins across service lines, developing strategies for improvement.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules for equipment to minimize downtime and costs.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for the operations department.

Capacity Planning:

  • Advise on capital investments for new equipment to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage and develop staff to meet annual operational goals.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in operations management.
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse or operations management, with a focus on household goods.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Work Environment:

The work environment is dynamic, requiring regular interaction with various teams and stakeholders. The role may involve moderate physical demands, including lifting and moving items as necessary.
