As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of process and equipment specialists to initiate, develop, and enhance manufacturing processes aimed at elevating product quality and reliability. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Improving process yields, reducing costs, and enhancing productivity while managing risks and troubleshooting manufacturing line challenges.
  • Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving process-related issues through methodologies such as Failure Analysis, FMEA, 8D, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Coordinating and executing evaluations and optimizations of processes, equipment, and materials to implement effective changes.
  • Leading initiatives focused on yield enhancement and cost efficiency.
  • Overseeing new process baseline qualifications and managing relationships with material suppliers to meet quality, cost, and risk management goals.
  • Owning segments of the product manufacturing process flow or device-related projects during yield ramp-up and sustaining phases.
  • Ensuring alignment of processes with sister facilities to achieve consistent inline and end-of-line results, thereby improving process control and yields.
  • Designing experiments using Design of Experiments (DOE), monitoring changes, and conducting statistical analyses of outcomes.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation of product and process information, including lessons learned and risk assessments.
  • Publishing updates on modules and key project statuses.
  • Collaborating closely with sister sites and the R&D Process Integration team to address product matching and process alignment challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Leading Process Transfer activities as part of New Product Introduction (NPI) when new technology nodes are introduced.

This position may require travel and offers the possibility of part-time telecommuting.

Micron Technology welcomes candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Resources Engineering, Physics, or a related field, along with 2 years of relevant experience.

Ideal candidates will possess expertise in:

  • Semiconductor process flows.
  • Semiconductor device physics.
  • DRAM and flash memory operations.
  • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Structured problem-solving methodologies, including Kepner-Tregoe, 8D, or DMAIC.
  • Data analysis and visualization tools, such as JMP.
