Domestic Violence Shelter Advocate

About the Role:
As a Residential Advocate at SARC, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for residents of our shelter.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting residents and responding to their requests for assistance or supplies with compassion and empathy.
- Conducting intakes and orienting survivors and their children to the shelter, ensuring their initial needs are met.
- Maintaining cleanliness and order of the shelter, including restocking supplies, laundry, and conducting regular security checks.
- Providing crisis intervention services, including answering emergency hotlines, safety planning, and offering emotional support.
- Collaborating with on-call staff to address emergencies and issues related to residents.
Schedule:
This role would be full time, Monday-Friday, with an approximate start time of 8-10am and an approximate end time of 4-6pm.
Salary:
$19.00/hour, plus a $2/hour shift differential for any shifts worked between the hours of 8pm and 8am.
Requirements:
A valid driver's license.
Preferred Experience:
At least 1 year in crisis intervention.
