Domestic Violence Shelter Case Manager

SARC is seeking a dedicated Case Manager to join our team in Harford County. As a Case Manager, you will play a vital role in aiding individuals and families requiring assistance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing shelter screenings to determine if candidates meet program requirements;
- Interviewing clients with problems such as personal and family adjustments, finances, employment, food, clothing, housing, and physical and mental impairments to determine the nature and degree of the problem;
- Securing information such as medical, psychological, and social factors contributing to the client's situation and evaluating these and the client's capacities;
- Meeting with clients individually, in family, or in other small groups regarding plans for meeting needs and aiding clients to mobilize their inner capacities and environmental resources to improve social functioning;
- Helping clients to modify attitudes and patterns of behavior by increasing their understanding of themselves and/or personal problems;
- Identifying clients' individual trauma responses and working with the client to address them;
- Being knowledgeable and implementing the Trauma-Informed Care philosophy by creating a safe, therapeutic living and working environment for our clients, which espouses the proactive principles of growth, change, and empowerment of the individual;
- Providing 24-hour on-call coverage for the program to guide staff in good decision-making and problem-solving. Directing staff in response to emergency situations;
- Maintaining and reporting accurate and up-to-date statistics for the program;
- Ensuring all shifts are covered;
- Referencing clients to community resources and other organizations;
- Compiling records and preparing reports;
- Working with the client to develop a service plan and performing follow-up to determine the quantity and quality of service provided to the client and the status of the client's case;
- Accessing and recording client and community resource information;
- Securing supplementary information such as employment, medical records, or school reports;
- Providing basic crisis intervention with residential clients;
- Assuming responsibility for all scheduled and unscheduled helpline calls/shifts, including meeting with walk-in clients;
- Assisting with transportation of clients and pickup of community donations;
- Completing monthly maintenance checks to ensure building safety.

Requirements:To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or 2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- A willingness to attend ongoing Trauma-Informed Care trainings and webinars to stay current with up-to-date trends in intervention;
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
SARC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- 11 paid holidays plus two floating holidays for full-time positions and one floating holiday for part-time roles;
