Job Title: Design and Development Engineer

Nissha Medical Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Design and Development Engineer to join our team in Buffalo, NY.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented engineer to provide high-level technical contributions to the design and development of medical product solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field, and experience working in a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop product specifications and conceptualize new product solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Perform engineering analysis to verify product concepts and ensure they meet product specifications.
  • Design and develop product solutions, including CAD modeling, design for manufacturability, and material selection.
  • Develop detailed drawings and specifications for components and assemblies.
  • Identify and procure suppliers for components and prototype samples.
  • Perform initial engineering builds and prototype evaluations.
  • Develop test methods and procedures to verify product designs.
  • Prepare protocols and reports for design verification.
  • Develop procedures and instructions for assembling product designs.
  • Specify or modify production processing equipment.
  • Research and develop custom manufacturing processes.
  • Design, fabricate, and verify assembly fixturing and manufacturing aids.
  • Identify, document, and verify critical in-process and final acceptance product quality criteria.
  • Verify and validate production equipment, processes, and test methods.
  • Support and participate in risk management processes.
  • Support, guide, and train production personnel.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education and professional development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (preferably mechanical, biomedical, or aeronautical).
  • 1-5 years' experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conceptualize and document creative mechanical solutions.
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Ability to plan activities, work independently, and complete work on schedule.
