Archivist and Digital Scholarship Manager

At Evergreen State College, we are seeking a highly skilled Archivist and Digital Scholarship Manager to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of materials and to develop innovative approaches to preserving and making accessible our rich cultural heritage.

Position Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the College's Archives and Special Collections, providing faculty, students, staff, and community members with access to our vast collections. This will involve developing and implementing policies and procedures for the acquisition, cataloging, and preservation of materials, as well as collaborating with colleagues to integrate our collections into the College's curriculum and research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the acquisition, cataloging, and preservation of materials in the Archives and Special Collections
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate our collections into the College's curriculum and research initiatives
- Provide research assistance and instruction to faculty, students, and community members
- Develop and maintain digital collections and online platforms to provide access to our materials

Requirements

- Master's degree in Library Science or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in archives and special collections management
- Strong knowledge of archival principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
