High School Administrator

Santa Fe Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified and experienced High School Principal to lead our educational team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for implementing and managing policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure that students receive a safe and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise educational and administrative staff
- Lead by example, providing effective feedback to teachers to improve practice
- Develop and evaluate educational programs, curriculum, and standards to meet the educational goals of the school, board, district, and state
- Assume overall responsibility for the safety, security, and appearance of the school facility
- Establish an effective system for communicating school matters to staff, students, parents, and the community
- Implement procedures to foster and maintain community confidence in the school and extra-curricular programs and activities
- Ensure accurate student records and daily reporting attendance procedures
- Direct student academic guidance counseling programs to meet the needs of all students
- Develop and coordinate the school's master schedule annually
- Ensure participation by the regular education staff in student IEP and 504 meetings
- Establish and oversee Advisory School Councils and ensure compliance with State requirements
- Responsible for using data analysis to create and modify instruction and decision-making
- Manage school climate, including ensuring discipline and student safety
- Oversee all aspects of degree checks to ensure the graduation of students and the graduation ceremony
- Keep administrative records and direct the preparation of reports, including preparing the budget and monitoring fund expenditures
- Serve as liaison between the school and parents, business partners, and community, interpreting activities and policies and encouraging participation in school life
- Attend district, school, and community events
- Provide input to grant applications
- Maintain grant programs and records
- Oversee construction projects
- Communicate and uphold district policies, develop consensus, mediate problems, and coordinate schedules and activities with various individuals
- Master's Degree in educational leadership or equivalent educational major
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a teacher
- Experience in curriculum development
- Successful performance in the position held at the time of application
- Knowledge of Common Core Standards and Secondary reform options
- Working knowledge of budgets and the use of data to inform instruction
- Public-speaking skills
- At least three (3) years of experience in school administration or principalship
- Strong familiarity with Special Education inclusionary practices in a secondary setting
- Considerable knowledge about scheduling, including block scheduling
- Secondary reform experience
- Bilingual-English/Spanish
