Role Summary
The company operates through various divisions, with a focus on delivering high-quality products and services. The Adhesives Quality Manager plays a pivotal role in leading quality initiatives and ensuring compliance across all products produced at the adhesives facility. This role encompasses the daily management of quality-related activities, including the investigation of non-conformances, customer feedback, deviation management, and operational readiness. The manager will also be responsible for developing and executing the quality strategy for the facility while enhancing the Quality Management System (QMS). The primary objective is to guarantee that all products meet or exceed the expectations of customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver quality support for the production and assessment of Steel Partners products, collaborating closely with plant leadership to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Provide quality leadership and influence various departments to maintain compliance with established quality standards.
- Facilitate timely resolutions for deviations, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), customer complaints, and investigations in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Develop and maintain internal quality systems and processes, including training, internal audits, document control, and manufacturing quality plans.
- Oversee quality assurance for raw material qualifications, technology transfers, product scale-ups, trial productions, and equipment validations.
- Lead investigations into non-conformances and corrective action initiatives, conducting root cause analyses and recommending solutions.
- Engage in new product development efforts to ensure quality-related issues are addressed and control activities are effectively designed.
- Support manufacturing and engineering functions in quality improvement initiatives, including statistical process control and the development of sampling plans.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to meet deadlines and product delivery schedules, overseeing validation activities and establishing control specifications.
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing quality trends, working with leadership and development teams to implement improvements.
- Drive Continuous Improvement projects to enhance quality systems, manufacturing processes, and customer value.
- Supervise and mentor plant quality personnel to ensure optimal performance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in leading quality improvement initiatives.
- In-depth knowledge of quality methodologies and systems, including statistics, control plans, and auditing.
- Preferred certifications in LSS and ASQ, with demonstrated application of these principles.
- Proficient in PC applications, particularly MS Office Suite, with strong Excel and statistical software skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership and conflict management skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Proactive initiative and follow-up are essential for success.
