As our organization continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to enhance our finance department's capabilities.

This position is a full-time remote opportunity, with candidates expected to work during Pacific Standard Time hours.

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily functions of the accounting department, including Month-End Close, Accounts Payable/Receivable, and Payroll. This role is pivotal in establishing and maintaining robust financial internal controls and making strategic decisions that influence the Finance & Accounting division. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with operational managers and various teams within Finance. Responsibilities will also encompass the implementation and enhancement of business systems, such as the general ledger and automation tools. The Accounting Manager must demonstrate independence and confidence in guiding the company towards achieving its long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the monthly closing process of financial systems, ensuring all activities are executed accurately and timely, adhering to accounting policies and guidelines.
  • Examine monthly balance sheets, journal entries, and financial statements for accuracy and completeness, including consolidation and intercompany accounting.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified in financial statements.
  • Implement process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting function.
  • Participate in system implementations, particularly for General Ledger, AP Automation, and Expense Management.
  • Possess technical accounting expertise, particularly in relation to revenue cycle management within healthcare organizations.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate analytical tools and reports, focusing on enhancing systems and processes that support financial management.
  • Develop and maintain internal accounting controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team comprising Accountants, AP and AR specialists, and Payroll staff.
  • Manage external audits and annual tax filings in collaboration with external firms.
  • Oversee the automation of AP and AR processes, aligning with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Direct departmental staff through goal setting, coaching, and prioritization of projects.
  • Assess and develop staff skills in line with current and future technological needs.
  • Establish strategic direction for areas of responsibility.
  • Recruit and nurture talent to achieve performance excellence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is mandatory.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • At least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Preference for remote work capability.
  • Proficient in computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to escalate risks and issues to leadership for timely resolution.
  • Experience with GL implementation is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Federal Government Regulations is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on process re-engineering.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for understanding and improving processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across functions.

The expected annual salary for this role ranges from $120,000 - $135,000. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, expertise, geographic location, and individual skill set. This salary is part of a comprehensive compensation package that may include an annual cash bonus and a full benefits offering.
