POSITION SUMMARY


The Aerial Operations Manager is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the daily oversight and comprehensive management of the Aerial team.

This role entails guiding the team to fulfill project objectives within the specified timelines set by project management. The focus is on operational efficiency, enhancing team productivity, and fostering a unified group of professionals. The department's mission is to surpass productivity and quality benchmarks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead and mentor the aerial department, offering guidance, support, and knowledge transfer to elevate their skills and performance.

2. Collaborate with clients and engage in client discussions to grasp project requirements, address concerns, and propose effective solutions.

3. Manage the prerequisites for field data collection, ensuring accurate and thorough data is compiled to support distribution design initiatives.

4. Apply pole loading expertise to develop pole load models for wind-loading utilizing O-Calc and SPIDAcalc software.

5. Exhibit a robust understanding of GO95 and NESC standards to guarantee compliance in distribution design.

6. Complete data entry into computer systems and Tracker to uphold precise records of distribution designs and project advancements.

7. Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, aerial imagery, and other geographic data for consideration in telecommunications project design.


8. Conduct quality control assessments of all facets of the aerial drafting phases, including make-ready design, wind loading calculations, field reports, and JPA forms of the design project.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Associate's degree or 3+ years of relevant industry or professional experience.


- 2+ years of experience in designing distribution facilities adhering to client standards, encompassing overhead and underground distribution infrastructure, feeder replacement, cable replacement, and telecommunication Make-Ready evaluations.

- 3+ years of experience in an Aerial or similar role.

- 3+ years of experience with wind loading technology, JPA, or as a Make-Ready Engineer.

- 3+ years of experience utilizing pole loading software such as SPIDA or O-Calc.

- 1+ years of experience in a leadership or management capacity.

- Proficient in reading and interpreting utility maps.

- Capable of following directions and executing specific tasks with minimal supervision.

- Strong organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Earth.

- Comprehensive knowledge of local city, county, and utility company design standards for permit acquisition.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer.

- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
