OVERVIEW: As a Security Operations Manager, this role involves strategizing, overseeing, and coordinating activities related to classified engineering initiatives to ensure that personnel are appropriately vetted by the US Government and that classified materials, including documents, designs, specifications, and training materials, are managed securely.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide effective support within a matrix organizational structure.
  • Assist in the acquisition of employee security clearances.
  • Process personnel security clearances and initiate investigations for employees and candidates, ensuring validation of their need-to-know.
  • Prepare and submit Program Access Request forms for each candidate across various programs.
  • Document and provide evidence of employee briefings, re-briefings, debriefings, and exit debriefings upon employee separation.
  • Maintain personnel security files for individuals with Special Access Program access.
  • Lead efforts to expand and maintain a secure facility, addressing building requirements, alarm systems, locks, and computing resources.
  • Ensure that Fixed Facility Checklists are current and complete for re-accreditation purposes.
  • Guarantee that all classified materials are securely stored and locked during non-working hours.
  • Ensure proper marking and security of materials in compliance with NISPOM, and oversee the destruction of classified documents.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with US Government security agencies.
  • Interpret and implement Government and internal policies, creating security plans and procedures in accordance with the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other relevant regulations.
  • Provide training to employees to ensure proper handling of classified work and compliance with required certifications.
  • Effectively communicate information and respond to inquiries from customers, Government agencies, management, and employees.
  • Coordinate security-related activities within the engineering department and with other departments and contractors.
  • Ensure adherence to the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and all security protocols required by contracts.
  • Manage classified visit requests.
  • Conduct security reviews, including visits from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and Special Access Program customers, and oversee corrective action plans.
  • Assist with Communication Security (COMSEC) responsibilities, including inventory and destruction.
  • Provide updates to senior management regarding the status of the Facility Security Program.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Active US Government Security Clearance is mandatory.
  • Experience as a Facility Security Officer for a Cleared Facility is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of Department of Defense (DOD) and company security policies and requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong analytical skills and attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven capability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
  • Highly organized with a strong focus on detail.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The position is primarily office-based with moderate noise levels.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The role requires regular sitting, talking, and listening. Frequent use of hands for tasks such as typing is necessary. Occasional standing, walking, reaching, and climbing may be required. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

COMPENSATION: Competitive salary based on experience, with a pay range of $90,000 - $120,000.
