About the Role

Vandelay Hospitality Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Culinary Team Leadership: Engage and motivate a team of culinary professionals through effective recruiting, hiring, coaching, training, and development efforts.
  • Financial Management: Analyze and summarize financial information to inform budgeting, revenue, and expense decisions, as well as measure costs of products and services.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive innovation and improvement initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure accountability for high-quality and timely results.
  • Guest Experience: Respond to guest concerns, both written and verbal, and develop creative solutions to resolve issues.
  • Pre-Shift Meetings: Conduct pre-shift meetings to update the team on key business updates and ensure seamless operations.
  • Staff Scheduling: Assist with weekly staff scheduling as directed by the General Manager.
  • Inventory Management: Order goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and control operational costs, ensuring adherence to departmental budgets.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Ensure established standards of food safety, sanitation, and quality are maintained at all times.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Submit accurate and timely reports, documentation, and other information required by the corporate office.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Guest Feedback: Take action based on guest reviews and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Disciplinary Action: Adhere to Disciplinary Action Requirements as set by the company.
  • Manager Meetings: Attend and participate in weekly manager meetings to stay informed and aligned with company goals.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Culinary Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of full-service restaurant management experience.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work with flexibility in hours necessary to manage and operate the restaurant effectively.
  • Skills: Results-driven, trustworthy, and team-oriented.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work standing and walking for extended periods.
