Job Overview

The Champions Center is seeking a dedicated Teacher to cultivate a nurturing and effective learning environment. This role involves assembling a cohesive educational team, orchestrating the curriculum, and overseeing the daily operational functions of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute educational programs by creating classroom activities that align with developmental standards and cater to each child's unique needs.
  • Exemplify leadership; inspire the teaching team through modeling effective practices and providing guidance.
  • Organize individual and group activities that are age-appropriate, fostering social, cognitive, and emotional development.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents through informal discussions, progress updates, and scheduled conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations.
  • Promote a healthy classroom atmosphere by upholding hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
  • Oversee teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities and safety protocols.
  • Keep precise records, data, and documentation.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance quality and effectiveness.
  • Adhere to all center policies while following state guidelines.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in child care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with basic computer proficiency.
  • High energy and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents, fostering a team-oriented environment.
  • A solid understanding of child development principles.
  • Preferred certifications in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and health screening.
  • An Associate's Degree in early childhood education or a related field is required.
  • Possession of an ECD101 certificate or higher teaching credential is preferred.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to walk frequently, use hands and fingers, handle objects, communicate effectively, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision capabilities must include close vision, distance vision, color perception, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
