Job Responsibilities:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be integral to our mission of supporting individuals with mental health challenges. Your role will involve providing essential medical and supportive care to adult patients, aged 18 and older. You will administer medications, implement treatments, and perform various nursing procedures under the guidance of a registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to the closed loop medication administration process.
  • Delivering direct care to adult psychiatric patients, including those with hearing impairments and co-occurring disorders, while fostering therapeutic relationships.
  • Facilitating patient education groups as directed by your supervisor.
  • Documenting relevant patient information in real-time within their medical records.
  • Mentoring newly hired Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Providing oversight and support to non-licensed nursing staff involved in direct patient care.
  • Maintaining clinical skills through mandatory training and pursuing additional training opportunities.
Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have successfully completed a practical nursing program from an accredited institution and possess at least one year of nursing experience. Completion of an 80-hour pharmacology course may substitute for one year of experience. A valid license from the South Carolina State Board of Nursing is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual skills in English and Spanish (or another language) are advantageous.

Additional Information:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work effectively with mentally ill adults and perform emergency care when necessary. Physical capabilities include lifting up to 50 pounds and navigating multiple flights of stairs.
