Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned development professional to join our team as a Director of Development, Heart and Vascular at Hoag Hospital Irvine. This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced fundraising leader to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive major gift strategy to secure funding for the Heart and Vascular Institute.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, administrators, and donors.
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Collaborate with the development team to develop and implement fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Work closely with the medical and administrative leadership to develop funding priorities and ensure alignment with the hospital's strategic goals.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, including identifying new opportunities and stewarding existing relationships.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate volunteers to support major gift fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and implement a planned giving strategy to secure legacy gifts for the Heart and Vascular Institute.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior colleagues and administrative support staff.
  • Represent the hospital's development efforts at community events and meetings.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in major gift fundraising, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Proven track record of securing major gifts and developing successful fundraising strategies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, practices, and trends, with a focus on major gifts and planned giving.
  • Experience working with fundraising databases and software, including Salesforce.
  • Strong commitment to the mission and values of Hoag Hospital Irvine.
