Fuel Operations and Cleaning Supervisor

Job Overview

The Fuel Operations and Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficiency of the yard and fuel island by effectively managing and distributing tasks among Utility staff, fuelers, and probers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that vehicle interiors and exteriors are thoroughly cleaned and maintained to a high standard, including floors, ceilings, handrails, windows, driver areas, and wheels.
  • Maintain up-to-date vehicle interior cards.
  • Coordinate with the parts department to procure necessary supplies.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams regarding special event vehicles.
  • Communicate with dispatch to track all vehicles that have been put into service.
  • Work with maintenance to monitor out-of-service vehicles and those returning from the shop.
  • Engage with other supervisors and lead technicians to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area and utility cart storage at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure that adequate supplies are available for all utility and fuel personnel.
  • Cones off all fire lanes and emergency areas at the end of the shift.
  • Report any issues arising in the yard to the Assistant Maintenance Manager and/or Maintenance Manager.
  • Document and report all accidents or safety concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Address any issues related to the fuel island, wash bay, and vehicle parking lot.
  • Contact clean energy services when problems occur at the fuel island.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety protocols.
  • Monitor and assess the productivity levels of utility, fueler, and prober staff.
  • Compile and submit daily cleaning and fueling logs to the Maintenance Manager at the end of each shift.
  • Perform additional utility duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Applicants should possess a minimum of two years of verifiable experience as a Utility Supervisor, particularly in a Fleet department setting, where they have managed a large team engaged in Utility/Fuel operations. A valid driver's license is required.

Key skills include:

  • Ability to analyze operational challenges and devise effective solutions.
  • Experience in supervising and training personnel, as well as coordinating complex schedules and assignments.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in English, with the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic mathematical skills for tasks such as chemical mixing and labor calculations.
  • Strong attendance record and demonstrated sound judgment.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
