About the Role:

The Project Engineer I is responsible for supporting construction management functions in the electrical construction industry. This role involves working on projects that may include federal, state, and municipal clients across the United States.

The Project Engineer assists senior project management professionals with plan preparation, applicable specifications, and general project support.

E.S. Boulos Company, a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc, has provided comprehensive electrical construction services to clients in the eastern United States since 1920.

The company has two divisions, offering power line construction and commercial/industrial electrical construction services, making it a full-service electrical provider.

Essential Functions:

  • Interpret applicable construction drawings.
  • Assist with the review of plans and specifications and prepare a checklist of contract features that require periodic attention.
  • List items that sub-contractors must submit for approval prior to the start of work.
  • Assist with cost estimates and project scheduling as needed.
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate records.
  • Assist with preparing statements of work, submittals, change management, and necessary daily and weekly reporting.
  • Promote safety in construction operations and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Inspect equipment, material, workmanship, and finished construction.
  • Check progress of work in the field.
  • Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed and materials used conform to required specifications.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About You:

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial electrical operations or general construction experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
