KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Examine blueprints and specifications for various projects
  • Conduct thorough takeoffs on materials, labor, and equipment requirements
  • Request vendor quotes for necessary materials
  • Issue Requests for Information (RFIs) to the owner or general contractor during the bidding phase for necessary clarifications
  • Recognize potential challenges and implement proactive measures to address them
  • Identify and assess value engineering opportunities

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 8 years of successful estimating experience in large-scale commercial, healthcare, residential, and industrial concrete projects
  • In-depth knowledge and field experience related to cast-in-place concrete construction, including footings and foundations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to interpret technical and legal documentation
  • Familiarity with related structural components such as joists, decks, stairs, rails, and anchor rods
  • Capability to compile a comprehensive scope of work, detailing inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications
  • Proficient in construction terminology and skilled in using computer and estimating software
